In this business, the business of training and consulting on human performance improvement, I read a great deal. To me it's important to be up on the latest thinking and trends in the industry. I want to be able to offer our clients an objective view seen from both sides of the equation, pro or con. As Dale Carnegie once said “I listen to understand not necessarily to agree”. I read for the same reason. I want to be able to understand the subject from the author's point of view. I don't have to necessarily agree with it. You've most likely heard the adage, "Knowledge is Power."
